About LISA

Discover Vietnamese Through Real-Life Communication
Learning Vietnamese becomes much easier when you understand how people actually speak, express emotions, and interact in everyday situations.

My private online lessons combine practical language training with cultural insights, helping you move beyond textbook expressions and communicate more naturally.

Lessons designed around your life
- Personalized one-to-one coaching
- Learning materials selected for your needs
- Real-life dialogues, guided practice, and detailed corrections
- A learning plan that evolves with your progress

Your Vietnamese Journey Starts Here

Hi, I'm Lisa Hong. I've spent over ten years helping international learners explore the Vietnamese language and develop the confidence to use it in real-world situations.

Whether you're preparing to move to Vietnam, building relationships with Vietnamese speakers, traveling around the country, or communicating with Vietnamese colleagues, I'll help you develop language skills that fit your life.

Explore what you can learn
- Speak like a local: Northern Vietnamese with a Hanoi accent or Southern Vietnamese.
- Navigate everyday life: Conversations at restaurants, shops, workplaces, and social gatherings.
- Build professional connections: Useful Vietnamese for meetings, workplace interactions, and business relationships.
- Understand the language: Grammar, vocabulary, sentence patterns, pronunciation, and tones.
- Discover Vietnamese culture: Social etiquette, regional differences, customs, and communication habits.
- Develop all-round skills: Speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

About the lesson

A Learning Experience That Makes Sense to You
I can explain Vietnamese in English, Japanese, and Chinese, allowing me to approach difficult concepts from a perspective that makes sense to you.

I hold a professional certificate in Teaching Vietnamese as a Foreign Language and an International Tour Guide License. My background combines language-teaching training with practical knowledge of Vietnam's culture, history, and everyday life.

I want you to leave each lesson with more than new vocabulary: a clearer understanding of the language and the ability to use what you've learned.

Understand the Language. Experience the Culture. Speak with Confidence.

Let's make Vietnamese a meaningful part of your life.

Perfect! Vietnamese is a difficult language for native English speakers to learn.

Thương (Lisa) takes the correct academic approach to learning this language, in that the first step is understanding the six different tones. From there, we have moved on to numbers, the alphabet and simple conversation. We are currently learning time and days of the week.

It is not enough just to expect to learn Vietnamese with just one session per week; you will also need to devote time every day of the week to learning what Thương covers in her lessons.

Thương is punctual, has patience and is a pleasant person.
