About Quang
Update: I’m now working full-time as a data scientist at Deloitte, but would still love to do teach as my hobby.
I’m based in San Francisco. I majored in advanced math in high school, a rigorous program that has 2% acceptance rate. During high school I was a tutor for groups middle school and primary school students.
In college, I assist Professors in multiple courses in Computer Science department. I hold office hours where students can drop in to ask questions, grade assignments, and propose new assignments. Courses I TA-ed: machine learning, intro stats, data structures and algorithms, simulations and modeling, CS101.

I try to connect abstract ideas to real life examples whenever possible. I put emphasis on fundamental concepts and make sure students are familiar with them first before moving onto other more complicated ones. I oppose rote learning. I don't want my tutees to just be able to solve a particular math problem. That's not the sole goal. The goal is critical thinking that's universally required in STEM courses.
