About Jose

Among other things, I am a passionate teacher. I live in with my family (2 children and a beautiful wife). I love dogs, cats, horses, motorcycles, and a lot of nature. In my academic life, I graduated in physics and completed my Ph.D. in mechanical engineering. I participated in technological projects related to engineering, published papers, books and others. I have been teaching for undergrad and high school courses, covering subjects such as basic physics (mechanics, fluids, thermodynamics, electricity, and magnetism), fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, materials resistance, differential and integral calculus I and III, as well as postgraduate courses (petroleum and gas engineering). In the market, I was able to work in well drilling, where I founded the company 'Otima Perfuracoes'. I wrote books and articles in the field of oil and gas, in addition to international living, work and studies (Canada and the USA). I hope I may help you to achieve your main objectives. I am waiting for you.

I'll guide you to study smarter and learn faster, applying the ultralearning method (Scott Young) and boost the way you learn. - With great respect, classes are relaxed and personalized, taking into account the student's prior knowledge, as well as their needs and planning. - It lasts 55 minutes (the rest I use to prepare the material to send to the student, such as the class video, tasks, lists, prints of screen and others. - They are done via Google Meet or Zoom, where I share the screen to show simulators, experimental videos and exercise solutions. - They are carried out using a graphics tablet to solve questions and exercise lists. - They can be at undergrad or high school level, such as preparation for the competitions, assignments, tests, exams and homeschooling. - Mechanics - Fluids - SHM - Optics - Thermodynamics - Electromagnetism - Circuits - Waves - Energy I will help you identify your limitations and develop your full potential. I am waiting for you.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I have always been involved in studies. I completed my bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees (finished in 2013), and I have always taught at higher education and basic education institutions. With the advancement of technology, I am now able to deliver work of excellent quality, providing individualized support.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I've always been a curious person, trying to answer questions about how things work, like what's the sky, space, machines, colors and electronics. This curiosity led me to learn tools such as math, equations, and technologies. Now, I can connect with people from everywhere; It's strange to think about it, but it seems that almost everything I've done in life has directed me here - to be on the Superprof platform, teaching physics, mathematics, and engineering. Here, I can integrate technology, knowledge, salary, and family, and it feels like a dream... haha
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Here I am in the comfort of home, close to friends and family, connecting with people from different places and cultures. I truly enjoy doing this job, feeling completely at peace with myself, and helping people achieve their objectives. This commitment has led me to be effective as an online tutor. In fact, I believe that to truly excel as a Superprof, one must comprehend the student's motivation to study. The technology available today is really different from what we had ten years ago; everything is evolving rapidly. Finally, focusing on motivation in a personalized manner and understanding the virtues, values, and weaknesses of the student should be the primary emphasis.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

I used to draw a lot of inspiration from the STEM teaching method, given that my undergraduate degree was in physics and my doctoral degree was in mechanical engineering. In this model, I can easily integrate the core concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Moreover, I have also employed the Scott Young (2019) ultralearning method, which makes classes more engaging, as the students try to create questions that they have to answer themselves, and I may unblock the points the student struggles with.
  • What are your keys to success?

I think success is a very personal journey, and according to my values and beliefs I highlight some keys like positivity, ethics, gratitude, resilience and continuous learning.
