About Nataliya
I have a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Toronto, and have been teaching mathematics at the university level since 2006. I taught a variety of math courses ranging from 1st to 4th year undergraduate at the University of Toronto, Trent University and Concordia University. I also tutored students from Grade 5 to 4th year undergraduate.

I build students' confidence and inspire them. I do my best to convince students that doing math can be a lot of fun, and that everyone can succeed in math if they find the right approach to it. As much as possible, I try to guide students on their journey to making discoveries as opposed to simply providing them with all the answers. My goal is not just to help students solve a particular type of problem or memorize a formula, but to encourage them to look for elegant solutions and to understand where the formulas come from. I motivate students by showing examples of how the concepts they are studying are applicable in the real world. I will often show them games or tricks that demonstrate how understanding mathematics is crucial in various branches of science. I always put effort into getting to know my students and relating well to them. I care about their success and make sure that I am welcoming and approachable.
