About Elly
I am a tutor with a Master of Architecture from the University of Melbourne, offering support in Mathematics, Mathematical Modeling, and Chinese. I am a tutor in Mathematics, Mathematical Modeling, and Chinese. My teaching approach is structured and student-focused, with an emphasis on helping learners understand concepts step by step rather than memorizing answers. In Mathematics, I break down complex problems into smaller, logical parts and guide students through the reasoning process so they can build confidence and develop independent problem-solving skills. I also encourage students to explain their thinking, which helps reinforce understanding.
For Mathematical Modeling and problem-solving, I focus on helping students apply mathematical concepts to structured and practical scenarios, developing both logical thinking and analytical skills.
For Chinese tutoring, I focus on building practical communication skills, including pronunciation, vocabulary, and everyday usage. I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable practicing and improving their confidence in using the language.
I typically structure lessons around 60 minutes, which allows time for explanation, guided practice, independent work, and review. I can adapt lesson structure depending on individual learning needs.
