About Jen
I graduated high school as Salutatorian. I've always had a passion for teaching. I tutor my 2 siblings throughout the year. In the summer, I give my 2 siblings full lessons based on the common core curriculum. Now their state test scores are at the top of their grade. I volunteer on a weekly bases at a local elementary school. Therefore, I am up to date with content and pedagogies utilized at the elementary level.
Currently, I work at Uconn as a tutor for biology and chemistry. When I am not a tutor, I facilitate the tutoring center. On the weekends, I am a Catechist for my church. I have been teaching religious education for 2 years.

Not everyone learn the same way. I teach base on what works best for the individual. Though my siblings are raised in the same environment, they learn very differently. That is why I use a variety of approaches. I fully support mastery based learning, the philosophy implemented by my high school. Students should be learning towards expertise in the content, not just understanding.
