About Alice
My name is Alice and I am 21 years old, originally from London and recently moved to Staffordshire. I played football for professional clubs until I was 15, but realised I wanted to pursue a career in researching cancer so had a complete change of heart and decided to start working hard in school and taking pride in my work. It paid off as I walked out with 8 A* grades (grade 8) at GCSEs, 3 A grade A-levels and a place at the University of Birmingham to pursue my career goals! I rarely understood things instantly and I do not expect you to, but my goal is to ensure you walk out of our sessions and you know exactly what you are doing, and also with a huge smile on your face! I'm happy to adapt my teaching style, to suit your learning style as I am more than aware that not every person learns the same way.

My technique is very much dependent on the person and is easily adaptable to suit different types of learners. My priority if ensuring you/your child is happy with what they are doing and understanding it thoroughly and understanding why we are completing each step. Typically I would go through a method step by step and explain each step, then ask them to reiterate what was done, then give some practice questions providing they understand; if this method is not working then I will do what works for them. The length of a lesson would be 1-2 hours, with a 5 minute break if needed at the 1 hour point. I have achieved an 8 grade (A*) at GCSE in Maths, Chemistry and Biology, and 3 grade A's in A-level biology, maths and chemistry. I will graduate this summer from University of Birmingham with a biomedical science degree. I am comfortable to teach from ages 10-18.
