About Tori
Hello! My name is Tori, and I am entering my third year of my Bachelor's degree in mathematics! I have been tutoring since I was in middle school, but I have recently moved to Antigonish and decided to expand my clientele! I am able to tutor in Math, Science, and English for students grade K-12. I am also able to assist in music (depending on the level).
As someone with a learning disability, I understand that everyone learns differently and that we are all at different destinations on our learning journey. These sessions are confidential and non-judgmental and I aim to make them stress-free.
I am patient and I truly care about your education experience, if there is anything I can do to make our sessions more accessible for you please let me know!

Before we meet, I ask that you highlight the specific areas of the subject you are wanting help with (exponents, fractions, paper formatting, etc.). I come to the session equipped with questions, information sheets, and (if requested, see below) practice quizzes/assignments based on the areas you are struggling with. If desired, I can also assist with studying such as creating/asking cue-cards and provide helpful studying tips that I have personally used.
If you are struggling in a subject but you don't even know what you need help with- that's okay too! I believe that the best way to advance in a subject is to master the basics. When you are struggling with an area of a subject it often traces back to a misunderstanding of the basic concepts. If this is the case for you please let me know before our session and we will revert to the beginning of the core concepts to find the root of the struggle and work from there.
If requested, I am able to create customized practice quizzes/assignments that target any specific areas the student is struggling with. The quiz/assignment can be completed with my assistance and an answer key, or can be completed individually and sent back to me for grading.
*Disclaimer: for personal reasons I will not be assisting with any math assignments/take home quizzes that will be passed in for grading, but I would be happy to assist with similar questions to ensure the understanding of the material.
Other Information to Mention:
I offer assistance in writing papers, understanding literacy, parts of a text, and more. I can help with creating outlines, organizing thoughts, brainstorming, proof reading, etc.
I am not yet offering official music lessons, but I am able to help out with music theory (reading notes, writing notes, keys, etc.)
