About In-chan
PhD researcher at Imperial College, 1st Class MEng. 1,000hrs+ tutoring experience
I moved to the UK when I was 9, without being able to speak English. I had a tutor for my 11+ exams. With his help, I not only managed to pass the exams, but was also offered a full scholarship at King Edward`s School, Edgbaston in Birmingham, one of the best schools in the country (incidentally, making me alumni with JRR Tolkien!).
I know exactly how helpful having a personal tutor can be, the impact it can have, from personal experience and I feel I am in a good position to be giving the same help I received.
My approach is that it is learning, not being educated, that is important. Learning how to learn, teaching how to learn. To think rather than to know.
I am currently researching my PhD at Imperial College London, having obtained a 1st Class MEng in Civil Engineering also at Imperial.
