About Jenifer
Hi! I’m Jennifer, a Life Science major in my final year of college and a future dental school applicant. I’m someone who values education, consistency, and personal growth, which is why I enjoy helping students build confidence in their own learning. Outside of academics, I love going to the gym, playing tennis, and keeping a balanced lifestyle through self-care. I also volunteer in a hospital setting, which has helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and professionalism and qualities I bring into my tutoring sessions. I’m calm, understanding, and easy to talk to, and I always try to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. My goal is to help students feel capable, motivated, and proud of their progress.

My tutoring approach is calm, patient, and very step-by-step. I focus on making sure students truly understand the concepts instead of just memorizing formulas. I adjust my teaching style based on how each student learns: visual, hands-on, or through practice problems. I currently tutor with EduTutorVA, and I’ve also spent years helping my younger brothers and friends with their math classes, which has taught me how to explain topics in simple, relatable ways.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on what the student is struggling with. Then we go through examples together, break down the steps, and slowly build up to independent practice. I always make sure students feel comfortable asking questions, even the small ones, because confidence matters just as much as skill.
What sets me apart is my patience and my ability to explain things in multiple ways until it finally “clicks.” I’m currently in my last year earning my bachelor’s degree in Life Science, so I understand how stressful school can feel, and I try to make learning a more positive experience.
My lessons are great for elementary to early high school students who need extra support, homework help, test prep, or just want someone who can make math feel less overwhelming.

Details
I set my rate at $20 per hour because I bring both training and real experience to my tutoring. I’ve been trained through EduTutorVA, where I learned effective teaching strategies and how to support students with different learning styles. I also have past experience working in a Montessori school, which helped me develop patience, clear communication, and a student-centered approach.
All lesson materials, practice problems, and preparation time are included in my hourly rate, so there are no extra fees. My goal is to provide high-quality, personalized support at an affordable price.
