About Lydia
I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. I worked as a software engineer during and after college, and now I tutor part-time while I am in graduate school. I currently tutor college students, although I have some experience tutoring grade-school level math.

More than any other subject, math can be difficult to learn because it is an abstract subject that is often taught with a one-size-fits-all approach. Students struggle to comprehend the abstract when it is merely taught as principles. I strive to help students "see" what is going on and to understand abstract concepts on an intuitive level. Part of this is accomplished in one-on-one tutoring, where I can see exactly where in the process a student struggles to understand, and I can change the approach at that point to accommodate for that student's particular learning needs.
These lessons are for those studying Algebra or AP Calculus in high school or are studying Finite Math, Calculus or Linear Algebra in College.
