About Kirsten
Hello! I'm Kirsten.
I am a smiley and kind person, who loves to help others grow, learn and try their best. I'm young and generally have quite a lot of energy that I love to focus on helping others. As a Brownie Leader, archaeologist and now trainee teacher I have a well-rounded education both in and outside of the traditional box, and I have a love for finding the best ways to teach a topic that suits the needs of the individual.
Although I have no formal tutoring experience, over the years I have worked with small groups in schools to provide further education and most recently in my teacher training I have been planning and teaching lessons for whole classes, and small groups for specific interventions. Despite my lack of experience, I know I am organised, I enjoy planning and teaching sessions that help others understand and get their head around a topic, and I thrive on providing space for others to be the best that they can be.
As a teacher I like to use a variety of techniques to embed and develop learning. From my own schooling I like to make sure when I am teaching I mix up the sessions with both practical and wrote learning, along with deep abstract learning to allow the knowledge to better consolidated for future use and expansion. I always aim to get to know my students first so as to ensure we have a solid and trusting relationship which allow for a successful learning and growth on both sides.
As I tutor I want to help people grow and be happy with both themselves and people and with what they have learnt whilst with me. I aim to be a space for happiness, learning, and positive well beings.
