About Heidi
I am an experienced math teacher, currently taking a pause from teaching to pursue a master's degree in Neuroscience. I have taught courses in Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, and AB/BC Calculus. I have taught in Competency Based Learning Systems emphasizing Project Based Learning as well as more traditional systems.
I also have significant experience working with younger students as a camp counselor as well as in teaching assistant and tutoring positions.
I find joy in helping students of any age find 'aha' moments in math, and seeing their confidence build through these victories. The reward of changing a mindset and seeing a former 'math-hater' open up to the subject is the reason I teach.

Tutoring sessions tailored to the needs of the student, whether that's help with specific assignments, reviewing confusing concepts, or additional content to get ahead. Students are welcome to bring their own curriculum to our sessions, or I can provide additional practice problems or projects for Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, or Calculus.
In addition to content, I place an emphasis on building confidence in math. Everyone can learn math, and for some students, a mindset shift can make all the difference.
