About Parvesh

Hi, I’m Dr. Parvesh Kumari, based in Mickleham, Melbourne. I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics, a Bachelor of Education in Science and Mathematics, and a joint PhD completed through RMIT University and AcSIR.

My experience includes teaching Math and Physical Science during my school placement in India and mentoring students on science research projects. I enjoy helping students make sense of topics they once found difficult.

I want to teach because I believe patient guidance and clear explanations can make a real difference. My aim is to help students feel comfortable asking questions, develop their understanding and become more confident, independent learners.

About the lesson

I offer personalised Maths lessons for Years 7–10 and Physics lessons for secondary students. With a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics, a B.Ed. in Science and Mathematics, and a joint PhD completed through RMIT University and AcSIR, I bring both subject knowledge and practical scientific experience to my lessons.

I start by finding out what the student understands and where they need support. We then work through concepts and examples step by step, followed by independent practice. I use everyday situations and examples from experiments to make abstract ideas easier to understand.

My experience includes teaching Years 9–10 during my supervised school placement and mentoring senior secondary students on research projects. I encourage questions, adapt the pace to each learner and help students build confidence in explaining their reasoning—not just finding the answer.
