About Joshua

I am a Qualified Science Teacher (QTS) based in London with a specialism in Physics and experience teaching KS3, KS4, and KS5 students. I hold a PGCE in Science Education and have taught a wide range of learners, including those with EAL and SEN needs. My approach is supportive, structured, and engaging. I focus on helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and develop the skills needed to succeed in Science, especially in Physics topics that many students find challenging. Lessons are interactive and tailored to each learner’s goals, using clear explanations, visual aids, real-world examples, and frequent feedback to track progress. Students describe my teaching as patient, encouraging, and easy to follow. My aim is to make Science enjoyable, accessible, and relevant, while helping every learner reach their full potential. Whether you’re aiming to improve exam performance or deepen your understanding of Physics, I’m here to help you succeed.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring: I am passionate about helping every student discover that Science can be enjoyable, understandable, and rewarding. I tailor each lesson to suit the learner’s pace, style, and confidence level, whether that means breaking topics down step by step, using visuals to explain abstract ideas, or linking Science to real-world examples. My sessions are interactive and encouraging. I ask questions, guide students to think critically, and celebrate their progress. I also use mini assessments and feedback throughout to help learners see how far they have come and what to focus on next. Lesson Structure: Most lessons are 60 minutes long and include: Review: Quick recap of previous learning Explore & Practice: Clear explanation with examples and guided questions Reflect: Short review and feedback to reinforce understanding I also offer 90-minute sessions for students preparing for exams or needing extra support. Qualifications & Experience: I am a Qualified Science Teacher (QTS) with a PGCE in Science Education (Physics Specialist), currently teaching in London. I have experience with KS3, KS4, and KS5 students, including those with EAL and SEN needs. My goal is to make every student feel capable and confident in Science. Who My Lessons Are For: I teach: KS3 students building strong Science foundations KS4 (GCSE) learners aiming for higher grades KS5 (A-Level) students developing advanced understanding and exam skills My lessons are positive, supportive, and designed to help every learner reach their full potential.

We’ve been working with Josh for the past few months, tutoring both of our boys across Maths and Science, and we’ve been really pleased with the progress we’ve seen.

As a teacher himself, Josh is extremely thorough and takes the time to work alongside the curriculum being taught at each of their respective schools, while also helping them consolidate any gaps and, where possible, stay ahead of what they are learning in class.

We’ve definitely noticed an improvement in their knowledge and confidence, particularly in Maths, and most importantly, both boys genuinely enjoy their sessions with him.

Josh is patient, consistent and clearly invested in their progress. We’re very happy to have found him and hope to continue working with him throughout the boys’ educational journey, including supporting our eldest as he progresses towards his GCSE years.

We would happily recommend Josh to other parents looking for a knowledgeable, committed and supportive tutor.

Joshua has been an outstanding tutor for both of my children. He helped my youngest son overcome significant anxiety during his transition from primary to secondary school, building his confidence in Maths and Science and helping him settle into school successfully.

He also supported my Year 9 daughter with Maths, and after her recent test she felt confident answering every question.

Joshua is always punctual, professional, patient, and supportive. Most importantly, he helps students believe in themselves and achieve results. I would highly recommend him to any parent looking for a tutor who genuinely makes a difference.
