About Alexia
Hi there! My name is Alexia and I am a Physics PhD student. I enjoy seeking out opportunities to discover new aspects of Physics and share my passion for Science. Last year, I was supporting 1st year university students as a tutor for the "Waves and Mechanics" module. My role involved assistance in weekly workshops and Excel labs. Apart from gaining experience as a tutor, I have also conducted research during my first year at the university. As part of the Summer School in University of Dundee, I worked on the Pachyonychia Congenita (PC) project. My placement role involved the development of cooling technologies to ease people suffering from PC. I have also worked as a Physics student ambassador at University of Dundee. A position that allowed me to share my enthusiasm for Physics and convince students to follow a career in Science. Furthermore, the past two years I have been an active demonstrator for outreach events through which I practise at communicating science to different target audiences at different levels while spreading excitement about my field! As an aspiring physicist, I would be grateful if you offer me the chance to teach you. Besides, the world of STEM belongs to curious minds who work together to achieve a better understanding of the world we live in. I am more than happy to assist you with your homework assignments or help you understand better a concept explained in class. I usually try to find my own way when it comes to explaining. Along with a detailed diagnosis of the student's needs I offer the following: -Explanation of Maths and Physics concepts with real-life examples accompanied with detailed notes. -Help with homework assignments -Weekly assignments and some test samples Never feel embarrassed to ask when you don't understand! No one says that Physics or Maths is an easy game. However, the process of learning can be much more enjoyable than you think, especially when you see that the time and effort you put in pays off!
