About Ian
I am a recent graduate in Physics from UMass Amherst with several years of experience in tutoring specifically and a much longer history with education in general. During my college years, I worked with and eventually ran a student group that used demonstrations to help teach scientific concepts to kids of all age groups, while also inspiring them to learn more. Since then I've done a substantial amount of tutoring work through a few different programs, and while working with students ranging from elementary school all the way up to college-level classes.

Following the rule of thumb that STEM is best learned with practice, I work with students through a variety of different problems that highlight the reasoning and logic behind the scientific method. While there will be times where I do smaller lectures or the like, most of my lesson plans are focused first and foremost on learning how to use what you learn in class, so my students can get a full understanding for not only how to solve different problems but also why those methods are used.
