My approach moves beyond rote memorisation of formulae. Drawing from my PhD in Mathematics and 10 years as a Senior Data Scientist, I focus on building "Mathematical Intuition." I teach students to see the underlying logic of a problem before they ever pick up a pen.
Techniques: I utilise Socratic questioning to lead students to their own "Aha!" moments and Problem Decomposition, a technique used in senior data roles to break complex, multi-stage problems into manageable components.
Real-World Context: We don't just study abstract theory. If we are learning Matrix Algebra, I show you how it powers Google's search algorithms; if we are studying Probability, we look at how it models uncertainty in financial markets.
Visual Learning: I leverage professional digital whiteboards (Miro/Bitpaper) and occasionally Python/R to visualise functions and data distributions in real-time.
Typical Lesson Format & Length
