About Halimah
Hi! I’m a friendly and approachable university student currently studying Pharmaceutical Science, with a strong interest in Maths and Science. I have experience tutoring students both privately and in a tuition-centre environment, working with children from Year 3 through to GCSE level.
I enjoy tutoring because I love helping students understand things that they may initially find difficult. Seeing a student become more confident, finally understand a topic they have struggled with, or improve their results is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me. I believe every student learns differently, so I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes and learn at their own pace.
Outside of tutoring, my university studies have given me a strong foundation in scientific subjects, as well as experience with organisation, problem-solving and working independently. I bring this knowledge into my lessons while making sure explanations are kept simple, clear and appropriate for the student’s age and level.
Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for exams, tackling a difficult topic or simply building their confidence, I’m here to support them and help them reach their potential.

My approach to tutoring is centred around making lessons clear, engaging and tailored to each individual student. I first identify the student’s current level, areas they find difficult and their learning style, then adapt each lesson accordingly.
I use a combination of clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, questioning and exam-style questions to help students properly understand the topic rather than simply memorising answers. I encourage students to explain their thinking and ask questions, while providing additional support and gradually allowing them to work more independently as their confidence improves. I also revisit areas of difficulty regularly to make sure knowledge is retained.
Lessons typically last 1 hour, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate. I aim to make each lesson productive while keeping the student engaged and comfortable.
I am currently studying Pharmaceutical Science at university and have experience tutoring students in both a tuition-centre setting and through private tutoring. I have experience supporting students with Maths and Science and understand the importance of adapting explanations to different abilities and ages.
My lessons are suitable for students from Year 3 through to GCSE level, including students who may need help catching up, strengthening their understanding, preparing for exams or simply building their confidence in Maths and Science. I welcome students of different abilities and aim to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.
