About Nwafor

I am a First Class graduate of Chemistry Education from University of Lagos, Nigeria. I have helped a lot of students online and offline that have done excellently well, but for now I'm teaching online. I'm very patient and will help you understand the concept. One fun thing about me is that I'm really quick to reply messages and chats.

About the lesson

Move from a C to an A in your studies. I take my time to listen to students and clear their doubts. Most students are really happy when they book a class and go through the experience because I'll patiently watch you do it again till you get it and help you out where you're stuck. I teach from simple to complex and you'll be surprised that at the end, what you thought was difficult will be very simple afterwards. I'll basically guide you to do it yourself and master it. Let's do this right? Okay book a class now and I'll say hi to you back almost immediately. Then we'll plan the next set of classes and how I can give you good discount if you'd love it.

When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
Whilst I was at the university. I studied chemistry education, and it's been amazing tutoring my classmates as well as the next class after mine.
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
I love teaching physical chemistry, and I also like organic chemistry. I love tutoring students and doing brainstorming sessions, which leads them to synthesise their own understanding and then correct them if they go wrong. Inorganic chemistry is my least favourite because it feels like just reading.
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
Yes. My high school chemistry teacher, Mr Alex, is a very nice man. He made me like chemistry.
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
I think excellence in your field, patience and motivation are qualities of a good tutor.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
I remember tutoring a colleague of mine, and he attested to the fact that if only the Professor explained it the same way, it would help students develop the right attitude to the subject.
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?
I faced electricity challenges when I started, but over time, I invested in a standby source of power, which ensures that I am able to schedule more lessons and deliver them effectively.
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
My passion is teaching. I can teach for free.
