About Jessica

I am a NYS Level III Teaching Assistant, with over 8 years of experience working for the New York City Department of Education as a paraprofessional in a progressive elementary school. There I worked with children of all grades from Pre-K to 5th grade, and learned ways of implementing progressive pedagogic principles and strategies into the classrooms and in supporting students one-on-one, and in small groups or whole class. Math is a subject I am personally very passionate about, and receive great satisfaction in being able to help students overcome their challenges with it.

About the lesson

My teaching methods follow closely on the progressive approach. I am very skilled in finding creative ways of approaching hard mathematical concepts with visuals, hands-on and fun innovative activities, adapting to the learning styles of each of my students. I am very patient and working at their pace, building from what they already know to help them acquire and grasp new concepts, while keeping them engaged and invested. This enhances their learning experience, with exceptional outcomes.

Details

The in-person rate is for one student. Additional students (up to 3 more) will be at an additional $5 per person an hour.

For tutoring via webcam, the rate includes up to 2 students connected at a time. Additional students after that would be an additional $5 each (up to 2 more), for a total of 4 students connected at a time.

You can request a free 30-minute lesson via webcam.

The special discount rates of $150 for 5 hours, and $300 for 10 hours, apply to one student in-person lessons only.
