About Eleanor
I am a recent graduate from the University of Exeter with a 2:1 in Anthropology. During my 3rd year I lived and studied in Akita, Japan where I also tutored native Japanese students in the English language. By the end of the 4 month one-one sessions, the five students that I taught all were able to confidently hold conversations, understand a fast pace of speech and master the English articulation of certain words, letters and sounds.

I approach each lesson with an individually oriented focus. I focus on the goals and weaknesses of each individual student (fluency, pronunciation, etc), and tailor a lesson for this specific goal. I like to use engaging activities such as conversations, videos, flashcards, discussion topics, games and even a creative craft (e.g.- origami folding). I always build in time for any questions or suggestions of improvements/ desired way of teaching so I can adjust the plan for the following lesson. Ultimately, I like my lessons to feel more like a natural conversation with a friend that you won't realise you're learning until you've learnt it!
