One technique I use regularly is asking students to explain a concept back to me in their own words, this allows me to confirm true understanding, identify any gaps early, and reinforce learning in a way that builds confidence and long-term retention. **What a typical lesson looks like** A typical session begins with a quick check-in to identify what you’re finding most challenging and what your immediate goals are (exam preparation, coursework, or concept review). We then break the topic down into manageable sections using diagrams, simplified explanations, and real-life clinical or biological examples where appropriate. Throughout the lesson, I encourage questions and active participation, and we finish with a brief summary and targeted practice or review suggestions so you leave feeling clear, not overwhelmed. **What sets me apart** What sets me apart is not only my academic background, but my personal journey as a learner. I was once a student who needed complex concepts to be explained clearly and patiently before they truly made sense.
