About Patrik

I’m Patrik, a 3rd year medical student at Imperial College London. My interest in teaching started all the way back in secondary school, after completing my GCSEs, from where I started supporting students in younger years in the lead-up to these exams that we had just taken. It was at this moment that I realised how helpful it can be for someone who’s been through your journey to guide you along. Since then, I have gathered a decent amount of teaching experience, through leading educational assemblies at my high school, 1-1 tutoring of students looking to apply to medicine and also a vast amount of GCSE and A-level maths and science tutoring on platforms such as MyTutor and privately.

My lesson philosophy is that each lesson should take a personalised approach, which addresses the student’s specific needs.
To achieve this, I begin my lessons by establishing a main focus, either through directly discussing this with the student or a starter activity which aims to pick out these areas.
Then, we build confidence in these areas by going through some worked examples together, which aim to set the foundations through teaching of the main concepts.
However, practice makes perfect, so this is what most of the lesson focuses on, with students having a chance to work through challenging questions, while being guided and provided feedback as needed.
Lastly, we recap the main takeaways and set a plan for going forward.
