About Kaitlyn
My name is Dr. Fulford. I am the ideal private tutor for any student striving to be the best version of themselves. With a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Florida (GPA of 3.95) and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from ETSU, I am an expert in the fields of math and science. My laid back personality fosters a safe space for students to ask questions without fear. My students quickly realize that there is no punishment, condescension or judgment in admitting they do not understand a concept or know the right answer.
Specifically, my educational background fostered an understanding of academic subjects and the intricacies of human behavior. As an undergraduate, I researched Applied Behavior Analysis concepts in the context of children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. I use this experience and my neuroscience knowledge in my daily practice as a Private Tutor. While in medicine, I further developed my scientific knowledge and professionalism. I also learned that my skills and personality are most conducive to being an educator and leader of youth.
As a private tutor, I use my skills to teach a diverse group of students. Some high schoolers need help with specific courses, while others struggle with organization and study skills. Some college students are pre-health majors looking to gain acceptance to a professional school. Others are non-STEM students trying to pass basic math credits. Many of my students have anxiety and/or ADHD. Part of our sessions include developing study habits and test-taking strategies that mitigate symptoms while performing academic tasks.
I am a versatile tutor with extensive knowledge and an empathetic personality. My goal is to optimize each student’s learning style in order to leave feeling empowered and confident in themselves! I want my students to leave with a new love of learning that is free of judgment and full of curiosity.

My name is Dr. Kaitlyn Fulford and I have been a private math and science tutor for over 5 years. My teaching methods are derived from a combination of my professional experience and extensive knowledge of math, science and psychology. When paired with my easily approachable and laid-back personality, I am able to cultivate an environment for each individual to maximize their potential. I believe that each student has their own unique learning style that should be the focal point of each session. This allows each lesson to be tailored specifically to the student's needs and will be most beneficial to the learning process. My main goal is to create a safe space for each student to learn at their own pace, to make mistakes, to ask questions, and to gain the confidence necessary to succeed in academics and in life.
My skill set allows me to work with a wide range of clients from various backgrounds and academic levels. Specifically, I work with high school, college and graduate students. No matter whether the goal is to pass your classes, gain admission to a top-level college, or to be accepted by a professional school, I can help you achieve it. My favorite part of being a tutor is seeing students gain confidence in themselves throughout the learning process. I will work with each student to devise a plan incorporating various strategies that best fits the individual’s learning style. Together we will use this process to accomplish academic goals and develop life-long skills applicable to life outside the classroom.
