About Tom
I have a BEng in mechanical engineering but have just finished my MSc specialising in biomedical engineering. Over the course of this year I have given weekly tuition to three different students for maths and physics but am very excited to teach other sciences too! I am able to offer both digital and in person tuition based off the clients preferences.

My teaching method is catered towards the need of each student and the need of their tuition.
When introducing a new topic, I have found the smaller the steps the better. I will start by summarising what the topic is about and why it might be useful. I will then define learning objectives for each session so that the student is able to motivate themselves towards a task. When tackling the crux of a topic, I like to break down the concept into 3 or 4 elements which can be remembered with an acronym which I will try to get my student to recite frequently.
To help master the topic, I will organise short quizzes at the end of some sessions to get them confident and then look at some examples sculpted to the students level.
