About Mpho
Hi, I’m Mpho, a 2nd-year BSc IT Data Science student.
I enjoy mathematics and love helping students build confidence in the subject.
I’m patient, approachable, and focus on making learning enjoyable, understandable, and empowering, while encouraging curiosity and a positive attitude toward math.

I offer affordable mathematics tutoring for Grades 4–9, following the CAPS curriculum. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace.
My method: We start with a basic practice problem that the student tries on their own. Then I teach step-by-step methods and notes on how to approach it.
Next, we tackle slightly trickier problems together, followed by some practice independently. The hardest questions are assigned as homework, often at the level of past Department of Education exams, and are reviewed at the beginning of the next lesson.
Before tests or exams, we focus on the student’s most challenging topics using practice questions from previous assessments.
My goal is to help students understand, apply, and gain confidence in math, using simple tricks and clear explanations.
