About Stephen
I have taught math for over 35 years to students in schools across five Midwest states. The students typically achieve near the 75th percentile or above on standardized achievement tests. Nearly all of them are ready for Algebra One or pre-algebra in high school. I am a believer that the basic math facts and rules need to be put to memory in order to do the higher levels of math.

I teach using examples and samples the student can understand. The lesson begins with background knowledge and then proceeds into the new material. The lessons I teach are for grades 3-8 including algebra one. I correct the lesson before we move on to new material. Frequent reviews help the student to retain the material.
