About Byron
Helping you reach your "I get it now!" moment is my favorite part of instruction; watching you gain confidence in yourself as a person is my favorite part of teaching. As an Eagle Scout (yeah, I'm a nerd, sue me), I have mentored students since I was young myself, and was always a leader, and not the bossy kind, but the kind that always made people want to be better, because losing is harder than winning many times. So why not do what it takes to win? It's in the little things we do each day, like speaking up and reaching out to those who feel lost and forgotten. Also, not being afraid of looking silly and asking questions is one of the most admirable traits anyone can have. So be bold, and be great!

We first find out how you learn and who you are, and find where your strengths and weaknesses lie, and how those relate to your goals as a student.
Typical lesson plan is minimal lecture- I show you the easiest ways to do what you're struggling with, then we do some together, then you do it in a game-like format and we move onto a new skill to conquer.
I enjoy learning, a lot, and my enthusiasm is contagious. I work with students 5th grade to college, and love turning frustration into motivation to win the game of school and of life. So, it's time to get on the game, and it's time to win!
