About Michael
Why would you choose me?
I have had many years (25+) adapting how I connect math concepts for students.
I have a BS in Mathematics from the University of Washington
I have built my own house - ripped it to the studs, performed all cement, framing, electrical, and finish work by myself.
Although I teach math, I love Chemistry - Organic is my favorite.
I have taught mostly high school, but have also taught math at 2 community colleges.
I have an entrepreneurial mind, coming up with new concepts, creating or fixing electrical or mechanical fixtures at my house.
Math is just something I do as part of being a problem solver - we all run into problems that need to be solved in life!

I currently teach high school Algebra and Geometry. The reasons I went into teaching because I was tutoring kids in a youth group and I love math and its applications.
I make my own help videos when needed using OneNote and Screencastify. When tutoring virtually through Google Meet, I present materials that are needed, post helpful links, and use whiteboards (Figma) to work with students on problem sets.
I will help anyone learn math or chemistry - high school or college undergrad level.
If you have struggled to learn math in the past, that is not unusual - many people figure out later that they NEED to learn specific math concepts. I can help you if that describes your experience. If you just need some clarity, I can help there too!
