About Thiya
Hi, my name is Thiya! I’m a Maths tutor, and I teach from KS3 to A-levels. Based in South East London, I have two years of teaching experience, particularly working with younger children. Teaching Maths is something I’m passionate about, and I’ve always enjoyed helping students and children with topics they struggle with. Solving Maths puzzles is also a hobby of mine, and I’d love to share how fun it can be! As someone who has been tutored before, I understand how beneficial it can be and would love to provide the same support. I graduated with a degree in Economics, and during my GCSEs, I studied both Maths and Additional Maths, continuing with Maths for my A-levels.

My maths lessons will begin with an introductory test and a discussion with the student to assess their current understanding and identify areas where they would like support. It's important to ensure they get the most out of each session. For regular classes, we will start with a brief refresher from the previous lesson. In terms of lesson structure, we will cover the core concepts and methods of the topic, followed by examples and exercises to reinforce their independent understanding. We will then work through some exam-style questions and review helpful tips and tricks. At the end of each lesson, I will ask the student how they feel about the session and whether they would like more practice or have specific topics they would like to focus on in the next lesson. These lessons are suitable for students of all ages and typically last for one hour.

Perfect! Thiya is tutoring my 13yr old daughter in maths, which is something she has struggled with for a while.
I’ve seen my daughter’s confidence and understanding grow which has been great.
Thiya has a gentle but enthusiastic approach to maths which I can tell, my daughter really responds to.- Cece is a very sweet student.
