About Emma
I am a hard working student who is both dedicated to and motivated by my studies and interested in further developing my understanding of Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry during my A-Level studies. After the recent completion of my GCSEs, I gained experience in consolidating and applying different areas within the syllabus whilst also highlighting my resilient work ethic through the grades that I have achieved.
Which are 6 x 9s, 3 x 8s, 1 x 7 and an A* in further maths at GCSE.
More specifically:
Maths - 9
Chemistry - 8
Which, including Further Maths, I am targeted to achieve A*A*A* in at A-Level.
In the future, I wish to study mathematics at university and possibly continue the subject for a postgraduate degree, later progressing into actuary.
Currently, I aid a SEN KS3 student twice a week in their mathematics lessons by consolidating what the teacher is covering, whilst also ensuring complete cooperation throughout by engaging with the student.
Moreover, I have previously gained experience in teaching when volunteering for 12 months in a primary school. During my time here, I helped a range of students with their art and mathematics work by re-teaching the student what they had learnt in lesson. I achieved this by providing worked examples for every style of question, each time explaining the question in a style suitable to the student's abilities.

I begin by gaging the student's current knowledge in the chosen topic and attempt to fill in any existing gaps by providing worked examples and revisiting content studied previously in the course, which will be relevant to fully understanding the new topic - opposed to regurgitating the specification parrot fashion. Once I believe the student is equipped with all the skills necessary, I present past paper questions and guide the student whilst they attempt to solve them - providing support to unravel any misconceptions or difficulties they are facing. Through doing this, the student's confidence and independence in the topic increases exponentially when dealing with similar styles of questions in school.

During my GCSEs Emma helped me in science and maths when at the beginning of the year I was set to fail. She encouraged me to revise more often and helped me improve by using multiple methods like past papers and flash cards. Emma helped me effectively remember facts with these flash cards by reminding me to revise them frequently and helping me remember all the information I needed for my exams which allowed me achieve much higher grades in these subjects.
