I was in Math class with Jacob, and he was always very helpful! He explained problems patiently and in thorough (but not overwhelming) detail, making sure I understood why each step was necessary instead of telling me the answer straight away. His explanations were clear and concise, so it was easy for me to absorb and apply them to similar questions afterwards. My son began lessons with Jacob in January last year for his GCSEs. At the time he was working at a grade 6 in maths. After weekly sessions with Jacob he went from a grade 6 to a confident grade 9 in his GCSE exam, which was crucial as it meant he met the requirements to be allowed to take maths for A level at his school, and set him up in a great position to do so.

Having observed some of the lessons myself, Jacob always had lots of resources to work with on any topic my son said he was struggling with. He also had an approach where he'd give my son time to think and correct his own mistakes before guiding him to the answer, and it's these techniques which I believe brought my son up to his grade 9.
