About Lou
I graduated with a bachelors from EPFL (Switzerland) and a Masters from Johns Hopkins University (USA) in biomedical engineering. Currently, I am pursing my second Masters at Tsinghua University (China), also in biomedical engineering. I have always been passionate about teaching, and was a teaching assistant for 5 courses during my time in undergraduate studies. My teaching philosophy is to teach the way I (as a student myself!) would have liked to be taught the material, in a way that was tailored to me and my understandings. I bring a patient and positive outlook to the class, and will work with you towards whatever your goals are.

As a student myself, I know what approach helped me understand the content best. When it comes to math, my experience as a TA for several undergraduate classes taught me the value of learning by doing. In my classes, we'll go through your exercises and work through the problems together - step by step. Your understanding sets the pace of the class! We'll also take steps back after each class to take note of the techniques we learned so as to build our math "toolbox" as best as possible. These classes can be for anyone from middle school level to high university level courses such as calculus and algebra.
