About Alfa
Are you or your child looking for a friendly and reliable tutor to improve GCSE Maths or Science grades? I’m a university student with several years of tutoring experience, offering personalised one-to-one lessons that are tailored to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals. My passion for teaching began during my own GCSEs, when I formed a study group to help my classmates with exam preparation and past paper practice. Two of them went on to earn their first ever A grades in Maths — a moment that sparked my love for tutoring and student success. Since then, I’ve worked with a range of students, from younger years to those preparing for their final exams. One of my recent students had just moved into the top set for Maths in Year 11 and wanted to boost her confidence and marks. After just a few sessions, she scored the highest in her class on her first test. Whether your child is aiming to catch up, build confidence, or achieve top grades, I provide calm, encouraging support and break down difficult topics into manageable, easy-to-understand steps. My goal is to help every student reach their potential — not just by improving grades, but by developing real understanding and self-belief. Lessons are online and fully flexible, with regular progress updates available for parents. I’m here to support your child every step of the way.

Each session is carefully tailored to suit the student’s individual needs and learning style. I start by identifying their strengths and areas for improvement, then create a focused plan that builds their confidence and subject knowledge over time. A key part of my sessions involves regular review and recall — I revisit previous topics and test students on what they’ve already learned to make sure the knowledge sticks. I also introduce challenge questions and advanced topics when appropriate, helping students stretch their thinking and develop higher-level problem-solving skills. My goal is to not only help students succeed in their current studies, but to also build lasting confidence and strong exam technique — setting them up to become high achievers in both Maths and Science.
