About Fanqiong

Having recently completed my MSci in Mathematics at Imperial College London, I know how challenging A-level Maths can feel, especially when a topic just doesn’t seem to click before an exam.

My lessons are patient, supportive and focused on understanding, not just memorising methods. When a student gets stuck, I like to work through their thought process with them to find the missing link. Sometimes all it takes is a different explanation or a fresh approach to make something suddenly make sense.

For me, the best part of tutoring is seeing that moment when a student goes from “I don’t get it” to “Oh, that makes sense!” I want my students to build a genuine understanding of Maths or Physics, feel more confident tackling unfamiliar questions, and walk into their exams knowing what they’re capable of.

About the lesson

I’m Jade (Fanqiong), an Imperial College London MSci Mathematics graduate. I achieved A* in A-level Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics, so I know these exams from the student’s side, and how this maths leads on to university level.

I tutor A-level Maths, Further Maths and Physics, in English or Mandarin Chinese.

What lessons look like:
1. Before each session, tell me which topic or paper you want to work on, and I’ll prepare targeted materials.
2. I focus on recognising the patterns behind exam questions: how a problem is typically set up, what it’s really testing, and the standard method to reach for.
3. We work through past-paper questions together, so you leave each lesson with methods you can reuse.

Practical details:
1. In-person in West and Central London, or online
2. Sessions of 1 to 2 hours
