About Dee
I have been an educator in higher education for 20 years and have also spent time volunteering to help students learn to read and perform mathematical computations. I have had the opportunity to not only teach but to also learn from my students. I truly believe that learning is a two-way street and that the tutoring experience can be richer because of our interaction.
During my varied experiences in higher education, I have engaged students from various backgrounds, experiences, and prior knowledge; thus, I learned patience and how to effectively teach students from where they are when we start to where they are headed. It is my utmost desire for my students to win!

I have been teaching and engaging students for 20 years in different subject areas. I have also served as a volunteer to tutor math to students wanting to obtain their GED. I spend one-on-one time with my students making sure to encourage them and walk them through the process of learning not just to pass a particular assignment, but to make the information relatable, digestible, and applicable to everyday life. My lessons are for any level of student (i.e., K12 , undergraduate, graduate, etc.).
I am very upfront and honest about my abilities and if I cannot assist, I will let my students know and refer them to someone who can be of a better resource to them. I enjoy what I do because I want all to succeed and reach their highest potential.
