My techniques are asking questions first - What is it you have a problem with or what are you struggling with? I then approach the subject with flexibility and an open mind.
A typical class would be first helping with homework or other school-related questions. Then, if there is additional time, I would challenge them with thought-provoking questions related to their problems.
I would mainly like to focus on students who are in middle/elementary school or lower.
