About Jacob

Grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts and got a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. My PhD was received on 06/09/2023. I started working for Varsity Tutors with an invite from the company on 9/2023 and I'm still active with them on a daily basis. I do however read lips and I'm very open about being legally deaf because I am hard of hearing. I speak English, Spanish, French and American Sign language. Please use the language you're most comfy with, be defined by me as the language you speak at home on a daily basis. In poverty? Message me, I do a sliding scale. Can't afford lessons? Not a problem. I just need to verify poverty claims are factual at the present moment. This can be a benefits letter or some kind of bank statement. If you get a government phone, Medicaid or Medicare, food stamps or are on any kind of government assistance, please provide anyv document to verify assistance to a professional, not me. This can even be a letter from a professional such as a social worker, an organization worker from a non profit, etc stating which method you qualify with. You don't need to show me the award letters, just that a professional in your area can verify you're in poverty and I need a name and number. That's all it takes is an email with that and that you are their client and have a learner in your house and how much they think you'd be able to afford per lesson per learner. Once I get the letter, I will reach out to you that I got the letter, verify the info provided, they must state where they work. Once I verify that the organization exists, I'll give them a call at their main line and ask for the name provided. I'll even accept letters from religious and spiritual leaders such as clergy, a therapist, a guidance counselor, a doctor, etc. I just need them to be a professional that works in the mental health, social services, religious, spiritual or medical field and verify that they're a professional by giving me an email with their name and their main line to their organization and what that organization is. Then the other steps are followed. After I talk to them, I will reach out to you within one business day. Thank you and have a great day!

My hourly rate is the same as my online rate. I only do online lessons hence why it's the same. It should only cost the amount stated in each box. you only add or subtract to get the difference in the price. So, for example: if it states an hour is $12 and online is $12, you are only meant to pay $12. If it says my rate is $15, but online is $12, if you book online, you only pay $12 and save $3. If you need to ask any questions, that's always free when it comes to discussing arrangements, scheduling, the student, what their needs are and what you need to see for progress, planning is key. If your learner has special needs, I'm prepared to help your student as well. I have been serving lessons to those with special education needs since October in the year I started in Varsity Tutors, I still work with those students. I took their initial training and then took the extra training on top of any training that we required when I started. I'm all far into the training as can be on an up-to-date basis. If you book a lesson and my rate is Please have the student bring me their assignments from class and homework for a point of reference when developing my lessons. That way if the student is learning algebra 1 I'm not teaching algebra 2 and if they're learning inequations, I can provide assignments on that and I can try to gauge where they're on based on that. The first session will be free because it's an assessment. If the assessment is incomplete by the end of the first session, don't worry, I will make time to finish the free assessment no matter how many appointments it takes because that's why I included a free session to begin with. If you'd like a meet and greet, please kindly tell me so by contacting me. I do not bill for meet and greets and it's encouraged to bring me examples of classwork to this as well as homework so I can get a starting point for where I start my assessments. Also, if the student is in college, please tell me what year they're in in regards to how many they've completed, what their major is and how many years are left. If the student is a high school student, please say freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, if the student is a middle school student or below, please tell me what grade they're in. Please note I also will accept the answer that a student is in 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade regarding high school. Please note if you're in college, even if it is your second year, I have to technically know if you're technically a freshman or sophomore and if you're full-time, part time or half time in school. If you're working on a master's or PhD, please say year one or two for master's or PhD and how close you are to completion of the requirements for that year you've completed and how much time you have been working on that part of your degree. For instance: if you're in year one on your master's but this is your second year for whatever reason, just tell me you're in year one classes, this is your second year trying to get past this stage in your education and if you're half time, part time or full time as student, please include that as well. Please bring an class itineraries (schedules) and if your student is a kindergarten student, please state kindergarten or K for the grade level they're at. Thank you and have a wonderful day! I serve people lessons in English, Spanish, French and American Sign Language.
