About Sarah

Hi! I’m a University of Toronto graduate with an Honors Bachelor of Science, specializing in Neuroscience with a double minor in Biology and Physiology. I’m currently pursuing my second degree in Medical Radiation Sciences, specializing in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, through the University of Toronto and The Michener Institute.

My academic background has given me a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, physiology, anatomy, mathematics, and the medical sciences. Throughout my studies, I’ve developed a genuine passion for understanding the science behind how things work, and I hope to share that same curiosity with my students.

Outside of academics, I have experience working with children and young people through coaching, mentoring, and leading youth programs. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to adapt to different personalities and learning styles.

I understand that learning doesn’t always come easily, and I believe that struggling with a subject is often a matter of finding the right approach rather than lacking ability. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence in their abilities.

More than anything, I want to help students discover that science and mathematics aren’t just subjects to pass, but opportunities to think critically, ask questions, and better understand the world around them.

My approach to tutoring focuses on helping students understand the why behind everything, not just the how. I believe that once students understand the reasoning behind a concept, they can apply their knowledge confidently rather than relying on memorization.

I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, areas of difficulty, and learning goals. My lessons typically involve breaking down challenging concepts, working through examples together, and applying what we’ve learned through practice questions and exam-style problems.

As a University of Toronto Neuroscience graduate and current Nuclear Medicine student, I bring a strong scientific background and a genuine passion for learning. I aim to make complex subjects approachable, encourage curiosity, and help students develop independent thinking and problem-solving skills.

I offer personalized online lessons in biology, chemistry, general science, and mathematics for elementary and high school students. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, improving your grades, or building a stronger foundation, my goal is to help you become a more confident and independent learner.
