About Arthur
As a tutor, I try my best to create a comfortable environment for the student to learn and question ideas. I was on the Dean's List the first two years of college, then transferred to University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There, I finished my mathematics degree with a concentration in applied mathematics and coursework in Geographic Information Systems. Outside of academics, I like playing chess, music (guitar, trumpet, and drums), and video gaming!

Generally, I like to assess how they are handling their current material and then try to break bad habits or correct wrong ideas. From there, I try to strengthen their understanding through examples, first, working it out myself and then having them try. Once they have that concept down, we can start building some more.
Since I have tutored in the past, a lot of my evaluations said I was flexible with each person and gave them the chance to work without feeling like I was doing the work for them. I tutored for high school and community college, but I have some experience helping children learn.

Arthur is a wonderful teacher! He really helped me with my Calculus grade when I wasn’t doing the best. I ended up passing the class and it’s all thanks to him! He’s super easy to talk to and explains things super well. He seems to really enjoy math & it definitely helped that he loved the subject when he was tutoring me :)
