About Bronwen
Throughout my academic life I have been drawn to a range of subjects which has allowed me to develop a diverse toolset for learning. I helped my own sister through her GCSE Maths, and have helped several friends through my school and uni years. Part of what helps me be an effective educator is the mix of subjects I have pursued, including maths, geography, and theatre studies at A-Level, and then topics ranging from ocean circulatory systems to philosophy and gender studies during my undergraduate geography degree.
Regarding my own teaching style, I believe it is incredibly important to never just give someone the answer to a question. Research shows that we learn most effectively when we have to go through the struggle of problem solving. As a tutor, my role would be to encourage students to consider questions they may not have thought of themselves. I want to give students the tools to solve problems themselves when I am not there to give them direction.
Additionally, I am a passionate learner myself. I read a lot of nonfiction in my spare time.
