About Felix
Looking to take your cello playing to the next level? Learn from a multi-award-winning cellist, former Junior Fellow of both the Royal Northern College of Music and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and former cellist of the acclaimed Elmore String Quartet.
Having started the cello at just three years old, I trained at the Junior Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Junior Royal Academy of Music, later studying with world-renowned cellists Guy Johnston, Bruno Schrecker (of the Allegri String Quartet, pupil of Pablo Casals), and Crispin Campbell at the Interlochen Arts Academy (USA). I graduated with a BMus (Hons) from the Royal Northern College of Music, studying with Hannah Roberts.
My career has combined performing and teaching at the highest level: I’ve been cello teacher at Dean Close School (Cheltenham, 2024–2025), achieved recognition in international competitions, and now serve as Artistic Director of the Elmore Festival. I’ve recently relocated to Gloucester from London and am excited to work with new students locally and online.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual goals, learning style, and experience. I believe that solid technique and musical expression should grow hand in hand, so I focus on developing both a confident sound and an understanding of the music behind it. A typical lesson might include warm-ups and technical exercises, work on repertoire suited to your level, and guidance on phrasing, tone, and posture.
I also enjoy incorporating duets and creative listening to make learning engaging and enjoyable. I prepare students for ABRSM exams, auditions, or conservatoire entry, but I also love helping those who simply want to play for pleasure. Whether in person or online, I aim to create a supportive and inspiring environment where every student can develop their own musical voice.
