About Mila
French native speaker with 18 years of teaching experience in both the public and private sectors. Experienced examination board assessor, specialising in Language exam preparation. Whether you are a parent looking to give your child extra support in their language learning, an adult looking to learn a second language, or a business planning to offer tuition to your employees and equip them with Business French, I can help. I am a fully qualified teacher and have taught Languages in the UK for the past 18 years, French at the Secondary and University level, including English as an Additional Language, and consequently have developed a range of strategies to support and challenge learners of all abilities. Being French myself, my motivation for teaching languages was born out of a simple premise: How can I pass on to others the incredible discoveries made possible by learning another language? I am currently teaching part-time for a university in Worcestershire, I am therefore familiar with the requirements of most exam boards and have time to tailor lessons to meet your specific needs. I have tutored children and adults for many years in the UK; I am particularly good with quieter or less confident students. Under my guidance, my students have achieved top grades in French, from Common Entrance to GCSE and A Levels. I am a caring, hardworking, and reliable teacher. I believe in building a strong pupil-tutor relationship so that the student feels confident enough to talk openly with me about whatever might be affecting their education. I create a positive learning atmosphere to ensure that my tutorials are enjoyed, differentiated, and rewarding. I strongly emphasise role play, pronunciation, and vocabulary-developing techniques to build up students’ confidence in communicating in the Target Language. Adaptive Learning is at the heart of my planning. There are many ways to assess students' progress and the real experiences that I have encountered lead, into concrete practical strategies to help you in a unique way. Our first lesson will concentrate on the timeline of your query and the level you would like to achieve, so we can plan for the best outcomes together. Perfect! Mila is an excellent teacher. Being French and her years of teaching and general language experience applied to my specific requirements mean I get tailored lessons and am learning French pretty fast (I think). I’m certainly very happy with progress so far and look forward to understanding and conversing in french on my next skiing trip to Chamonix.
