About Rumen
Hey :)! My name is Rumen and I am from Bulgaria. Moved to the UK a couple of months ago to study Computer Science here. I love science and computers, I love challenging problems, I love to teach and spark student curiosity, make them ask questions and experiment. In my free time, I love to do martial arts. I started training karate in 4th grade, reading books, hanging out in nature, movies and series from time to time. I love studying and teaching, I love science and I learn it with passion.

My approach includes breaking up a concept and a problem into pieces, tackling it into its base components (parts) and using imagination to feel and view the problem. Problem-solving is an art, explaining like to a 5-year-old and then testing the understanding with challenging problems that activate the creative thinking of coming up with innovative solutions. I first give the students the problem to try to solve it all by themselves and then explain the concepts using imagination, logic, asking questions, practice labs and demos, giving them personal projects and exercises that are challenging to solve at home. Trying to solve something you have never encountered is key to understanding the problem and encouraging them to love the subject and understand how it works and why it works that way, pushing them to experiment and embrace curiosity over memorising formulas and concepts, but understanding them. I believe teaching is an art that they are responsible for creating the future generations and igniting interest in the given field.
