About Natalie

Hi there,

I am sure you must be overwhelmed, wondering which tutor to hire. Well, I am here to make sure you are at ease with your search for learning assistance. My name is Natalie and I am a high school senior enrolled at Cascadia Community College through the running start program. I have maintained a 3.9 grade point average throughout my high school and community college years. I have also taken a teaching class during my first year in college. In that class I learned of the best methods to help others have the best experience while being taught. I am also a nanny for two elementary students. During the quarantine due to covid-19, I have been home-schooling the girls. Therefore, I do have experience tutoring elementary students.

I have taken a variety of classes and can teach just about any subject if given a sample of the work. I would say I have the most knowledge in math classes. However, like I stated before, I am open to teaching other subjects as well.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask away! Due to the Covid-19 I will be an online tutor. I am open to zoom, facetime, skype or regular cell-phone calls. Zoom meetings would work the best so I could share my screen to display my work.

I love seeing others improve. It has to be one of the most amazing feelings to see your student begin to understand concepts. One of the main reasons students dislike learning is because they feel ashamed of the work they are doing. So, to see your student begin to catch onto things they start feeling proud and excited. Overall, seeing my student learn to love school is why I enjoy tutoring.

I am a nanny for two elementary students. I have been homeschooling them during quarintine. I have also taken a teaching class at my local community college.

First, I will ask them a few questions to understand how they learn best. Then, I will find out which app we can use to communicate, whether that be zoom, skype, facetime or audio calls. From there I would ask for a sample of the work I will be helping them on so I can get a better understanding of the material. Finally we will start the process on teaching my student the material. At the end of my job, my hope for the student is for them to feel confident in their learning that they will be able to teach someone else the material. 



I have mainly worked with elementary students and middle school students.



Look for someone you can see yourself being comfortable with. If you are intimidated by your teacher or feel a level of discomfort around them you will not learn as much as you should be. When feeling comfortable around your teacher, you will find yourself being at ease with asking questions or admitting your mistakes. It is important to feel like you can be vocal with your teacher because interaction causes more activity in the brain. Thus, to get the most out of your tutoring experience, find a teacher who you feel like you can talk to.
