About Robert
NYS Certified Grades 7-12. I have worked at a public high-school for twenty-three years. During this time I have tutored students privately in grade levels 1-12 and also college level courses. I have also tutored through the BOCES program in my area for students on medical and discipline homebound programs. I have openings now for late afternoons / evenings on weekdays and also weekend mornings; both on-line and in-person.
I value the one on one connections I make with each student toward meeting their academic goals in relaxed and friendly interactions. I am also available for summer tutoring for enrichment or for test preparation for Regents Exams. Thank you.
Twenty years of teaching experience in a public school, district and BOCES sponsored tutoring for medical and other home-bound students, and private tutoring.

Understanding past and current performance of the student in math and the student's attitude and confidence level can promote a meaningful initial interaction with a new student. Perfect! He is very calm and patience with my son. My son really likes how he explains things.
Perfect! Rob teaches math for a living. Keep that in mind when choosing a tutor because not everyone who is good at math knows how to teach it to someone else. Our son stayed interested and engaged with Rob due to his patience, thorough explanations and his follow through to make sure it was understood. We highly recommend Rob. Great w communication. Very reliable.
Perfect! Rob is very good at establishing rapport with my children. He challenges them consistently and provides real-time feedback to optimize their understanding and performance. Perfect! Rob is an enthusiastic and talented math tutor for our teenager. He has wonderful engagement skills and a genuine interest in our student's own skills which helps them feel confident with their work. This means that my teen always looks forward to meeting, brings questions, and leaves better prepared for class. My teen describes Rob as calm and relaxed which makes it really easy to understand the material. Also, personable and someone who encourages students .We feel very lucky to have found Rob this year. Perfect! Rob was extremely helpful in working with my 10th grade son on his Geometry throughout the year. Rob was flexible to offer the tutoring virtually which was helpful with our busy and variable weekly schedule. He made it easy to upload his assignments and content and use virtual classroom options to work with him each week. I can't say enough about Rob's support-my son frequently mentioned that he wished Rob was his high school teacher because he learned so easily from him! Highly recommend!
Perfect! Very professional, flexible and extremely knowledgeable. My son works well with him and is learning so much he needs. My son has needed help for the last couple of years in math. He does better with understanding on the one to one, and Mr. Healy has provided that. My son appreciates his calm demeanor and his patience. He also has allowed accommodating adjustments in schedule based on life. Highly recommend.
Mr. Healy is dedicated to his work. He is resourceful and personable. Mr. Healy has an excellent knack for problem solving and working step by step with the student to reach the final answer, all while ensuring the student actually understands the methods being taught. Mr. Healy tutored me when I was in high school, I was not the easiest student to deal with. He patiently worked with me and got me where I needed to be to pass that year. Fast forward to this year, my 5th grader was struggling in math and we knew just who to call. My daughter's grade went from failing to passing, she gained the confidence she was lacking and truly enjoyed meeting with Mr. Healy each week. Highly recommend!
RJH is a very thorough and patient tutor. He is very encouraging with the students he tutors. RJH keeps parents well informed as to how a student is progressing. Both of my kids improved significantly in math. My kids and I highly recommend RJH as a tutor.
