About Daniel
My name is Dan and I have been tutoring students in math and physics for the past 8 years. I have tutored in many capacities including (1) independently, (2) officially, through my undergraduate and graduate institutions, and (3) professionally, with a private tutoring company for the past 6 years. I received my BA in physics and BS in math from University of Chicago in 2015 and my PhD in physics from NYU in 2021. I work professionally in the fields of machine learning and applied mathematics but continue to tutor because I love it so much!
I have tutored all ages and backgrounds. From teaching 5th graders about elementary geometry and arithmetic for a middle school entrance exam to helping a physics graduate student study for their term exam in condensed matter physics, I have seen it all and I am more than comfortable tutoring in almost any are of physics or math.
I recognize that everyone has a different learning style (visual, oratory,..etc) and I like to learn how the student learns best and tailor my session to them. I am a strong believer in learning math/physics through problem solving and try to eliminate the intimidation factor for the student and walk them through seeing how to solve problems step by step which builds their confidence.
