About Bailey
As a student myself, I am able to relate to the students that I tutor. I know what it is like to be in a class and not understand the content, I have had teachers who are not able to spend one on one time with me or do not teach in a way that I understand. By understanding these issues I am able to better address them. I am a huge advocate for individualized learning, something not all classrooms can provide, which is what I primarily focus on when I am tutoring.
Personally, I believe everyone loves to learn but not everyone loves school. Having trouble understanding a class can be an incredibly stressful experience. I love tutoring becuase it is so fulfilling to help a student understand a topic they previously were having trouble with, and as a result realize their own capabilities and love for learing.
I was president of the Math National Honor Society in high shcool and began teaching math as a way to volunteer in my community.
I am a Math and Psychology major at UNC Chapel Hill so I study much of the material that I teach every single day. My mom is a teacher so I have always been around students and classrooms. I have been tutoring for four years now and have become familiar with many different teaching techniques and approaches.
I also was president of my schools chapter of the Math National Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta.)

To begin with I get to know the student, I figure out what they are like as a person as well as what they like and dislike about the subject we are studying, what methods they best learn with, and what areas they are confused on. Then I develop a learning plan specific to their interests and abilities.
Students with ADHD, which I have myself.

I charge $25 per hour for most subjects and $30 for a few more advance subjects that require I put in extra time before the session to prepare.
