About Snehal
Kia Ora! My name is Snehal, a high-performing Year 13 Senior Student at Wellington College with a strong passion for learning and helping others succeed, especially in mathematics, physics and chemistry. Over the past few years, I’ve supported many of my peers with their learning and discovered how rewarding it is to help others build confidence and achieve their goals. I believe that the key to learning is to build intuition around a topic, and not rote memorisation, and so that is my primary aim when teaching students. I understand the pressures that come with NCEA and the importance of strong academic support. My goal is to provide students with the tools, strategies, and encouragement they need to reach their full potential, whether they are aiming for Excellence or building essential skills. I take pride in being reliable, easy to work with, and committed to delivering meaningful results.

About My Tutoring Approach:
I’m a high-achieving student who gained Scholarship in Calculus in Year 11, and I specialise in tutoring Maths and Physics for NCEA Levels 1–3 and Scholarship. With a strong foundation in STEM and experience supporting peers through peer tutoring, mentoring, and previous tutoring jobs, I focus on helping students build deep understanding, confidence, and exam readiness.
Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
My teaching style is clear, adaptable, and goal-oriented. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps and focus on building both understanding and problem-solving strategies. I would do the following to help teach this way:
- Worked examples followed by independent practice
- Past exam questions to build assessment confidence
- Clear explanations that target common misunderstandings
Lesson Structure & Duration:
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, though I can adjust this based on your needs. I’m flexible with pacing – whether you need quick revision before a test or long-term support for Scholarship prep.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Scholarship Calculus (Year 11)
- Excellence endorsements in NCEA Level 1, 2 & 3 for Mathematics and Physics
- Experience as a Peer Tutor & Kumon Tutor
- Familiarity with NCEA, Scholarship, and curriculum expectations across a range of subjects
Who I Tutor:
- Secondary students (Years 9–13) looking to improve in Maths or Physics
- NCEA Level 1–3 students, including Scholarship candidates
- Students seeking to move from Merit to Excellence, or who need help building foundational confidence.

I’ve been learning with Snehal for a while now, and it’s been a really good experience. I usually need things to be broken down to properly understand them, and he’s really good at doing that without making it confusing. He makes things easy to follow and doesn’t overcomplicate topics, which I really appreciate. He’s also super patient and takes the time to explain things in different ways if I’m stuck. I remember struggling before a test, and he helped me work through it until it finally clicked, which made a big difference. He’s also really encouraging and makes sessions feel relaxed, so it’s easy to ask questions. Overall, he’s supportive, easy to learn from, and I’d definitely recommend him.
Snehal is a great, smart, and friendly person. He has helped me many times with math and English questions, and he explains concepts clearly, especially when I’ve been struggling to understand or review them.
Snehal is a great tutor for maths and STEM. He teaches difficult concepts really well and thoroughly, making sure to slow down for difficult ideas whilst also keeping pace with content. Additionally, he’s very thoughtful with his teaching and takes his time w clearing concepts. I really improved with my math skills because of him, and I saw the results through my final year exams.
Snehal has tutored my son over the past year and his progress throughout algebra and mathematics has been exponential. His thorough explanations and kind teaching style have meant that his progression throughout school has been quite supplemented, and my son is working years ahead of his age level. I would highly recommend Snehal for anyone interested in supplementing their teaching in mathematics.
Snehal is a good tutor where he explains everything in an understandable way. His method of teaching is clearly explained and easy to follow for calculus scholarship.
Snehal is a trustworthy tutor because he always shows up when people ask questions about math to him. He explains in a way that everyone understands of all levels. He is very nice and in other words very trustworthy.
Snehal has tutored me over the course of my time at Wellington College. I am currently a Year 11 accelerated student and without the help of my friend Snehal, I wouldn’t have come as far as I have. Snehal offers trusted advice as he has been through the NCEA system as well as the Cambridge system. His excellence in these two systems make him an excellent tutor and if you are looking to improve in a certain aspect of your learning, he is a great option.
